Property Controller: 

The crown jewel of the club is the 18-hole championship golf course, renovated in 2004. The course is immaculately maintained with greens that are fast and true. Well-groomed bunkers and attractive landscaping reflect the conscientiousness of the caretakers. The golf course is challenging and presents plenty of temptations to the more polished golfer. A first class 9-hole par 3 course presents some of the most spectacular vistas in the entire Tidewater area. Other diversions at the club include a driving range, putting and chipping greens, swimming pool (seasonal), croquet court, and a complete tennis center with both indoor and outdoor courts. Both the golfing and tennis centers are staffed with certified professionals and include well stocked pro shops. The Cedar Point clubhouse offers a casual dining room and private dining room; both with panoramic views of the water. Additionally, the facility contains private meeting rooms, an art gallery, locker rooms, and the golfing center. An outdoor terrace is a nice area to relax and mingle with friends after any activity. Weekly events keep the clubhouse alive with members and their guests.

Position Summary: 

Directs the financial activities of the club.  Develops policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records; develops, establishes and administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters; prepares financial statements, forecasts and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions.  Maintains all accounting records and is responsible for development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information.  Evaluates operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operational policies, trends and increased profit possibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop policies and procedures to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, cost control, payroll, taxes and related financial activities and records. 
  • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with various departments. 
  • Prepare, verify and disseminate monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, statistical analyses and accounting reports as necessary and appropriate for club management, the Home Office, clients, outside agencies and trade and professional organizations. 
  • Monitor expenditures and advise management about variances relative to the budget and financial aspects of their areas. 
  • Manage and conduct internal auditing programs to safeguard company assets, assure that records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently followed. 
  • Work with external auditors to assure that procedures are consistent with company policies. 
  • Direct, participate in and verify the taking of various inventories for beverages, food, supplies, merchandise, equipment, furnishings, etc. Approve inventory work sheets and spot check cross checked prices. 
  • Ensure all cash and receipts are collected and proper bank deposits are made. Perform daily reconciliation of point of sale revenues, tax liabilities, cost of goods sold, cash and charge receipts.  Prepare the cash report and reconcile bank statements. 
  • Manage the petty cash and operating cash fund. 
  • Maintain, monitor, and distribute membership statements monthly. Contact members about past due balances and work with them on prompt payment if necessary. 
  • Prepare and supervise the preparation of applicable federal, state and local tax returns. 
  • Ensure that all insurance policies, business licenses, liquor licenses, certificates of operation, and appropriate records are current and properly maintained. 
  • Effectively interact in a positive and professional manner and maintain harmonious relationships with clients, municipal officials, community organizations, and fellow co-workers. 
  • Manage employment activities for applicable staff members, including but not limited to, personnel recruitment and selection, performance evaluations, training, compensation, discipline and termination, etc. 
  • Responsible for Human Resource administrative duties including but not limited to maintaining the employee files/records, onboarding new staff members (staff handbook review and benefit orientation), and unemployment compensation reporting. 
  • Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to golf industry periodicals and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations. 
  • Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required operational, financial, budgetary and related reports. 18.Perform other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications: 

  • College degree with accounting and/or finance emphasis preferred. 
  • 2 years accounting and/or financial control experience and supervisory and/or management experience. 
  • Demonstrated capability with budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management. 
  • Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. 
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Line Cook

Cedar Point Club line cooks call for preparing the food that comes out of the kitchen. Our line cooks work directly under our sous chef who provides training and instructions. Our line cooks are assigned the task of knowing and executing the day-to-day operations of the line.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve all required food items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.

  • Set up service units and prep cook station with needed items.  Maintain and break down as appropriate.

  • Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary according to Company standards and state and local health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain security and safety in the kitchen according to Company policy.

  • Maintain neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules and sanitation standards at all times.

  • Requisition items needed to produce menu items.

  • Cover, date and neatly store all leftover products that are re-usable.

  • Perform other duties as appropriate.

Dishwasher

Cedar Point Club dishwasher responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates, and utensils, loading washing machines and stacking washed items appropriately. If you want to kickstart your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, dishwashing is a great place to start. Note that this role requires working in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our members. 

Responsibilities

  • Collect used kitchenware from kitchen areas

  • Load and unload dishwashing machines

  • Wash specific items by hand (e.g., large pots, oversized cutting boards, and delicate items)

  • Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment properly

  • Set up workstations before meal prep begins

  • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours

  • Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g., detergents, chemicals, trash bags, gloves) and inform the Executive Chef of any low stock items as necessary

  • Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues

  • Remove garbage regularly

  • Sanitize the kitchen and outlying areas, including the floor, back loading dock, etc.

Restaurant Server

Cedar Point Club servers provide the highest level of service in the manner most pleasing to members and their guests, and they assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service. Our servers provide information to assist members in making food and beverage selections, along with maintaining dining room appearance at all times. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete all opening and closing side jobs as assigned by the Head Server or Culinary Manager

  • Learn and memorize all menus and daily specials as provided by Chef and Culinary Manager

  • Acquire reservations and check table reservation schedules

  • Greets and seats members and guests

  • Immediately take beverage order and provide members and guest with both food and beverage menus

  • Serve beverages and recite specials

  • Take order in a timely fashion and place order to kitchen

  • Communicate with kitchen and member to ensure accurate and timely service

  • Give attentive service throughout member dining experience

  • Present check for signature at the end of service and member dining

  • Assure that all side work is accomplished, and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule at the end of the shift

  • Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room procedures to enhance member dining

  • Assures that the dining room is properly reset at the end of the day and is ready for service the next business day

  • Report all incidents of concern in regard to food and service to Head Server and/or Culinary Manager

Golf Outside Staff

Cedar Point Club golf outside staff help our golf members enjoy their golf experience by providing concierge service. Our golf staff is energetic, personable and punctual self-starters who provide a welcoming environment for our golf members and their guests. All of our golf outside staff are organized ad have exceptional customer service skills along with a “can-do” attitude. 

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly; up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull

  • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including high temperatures

  • Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts

  • The environment is usually quiet

Bag Drop

  • Assisting members and guests with loading and unloading their golf bags

  • Communicating any daily conditions to members and guests if asked

  • Greeting members and guests in a polite and energetic manner

Cart Barn

  • Maintain the fleet of 44 golf carts

  • Neatly and safely pull out and park and charge the golf carts

  • Keep the area clean and organized

  • Pull any golf clubs that are stored and needed for the day

  • Clean and return stored golf clubs to their dedicated slot

Practice Range

  • Set and maintain a full supply of pyramid golf balls on the range

  • Attend range throughout the day maintaining cleanliness

  • Pick and clean golf balls

  • Set up and break down range daily

Lifeguard

Cedar Point Club lifeguards ensure the safety of our members at the Aquatic Center. Our lifeguards will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. Lifeguards play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. Our lifeguards maintain pool equipment, monitor and record pool chemistry readings.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee activities at Aquatic Center

  • Explain, enforce rules and regulations to keep members safe

  • Monitor and recognize signs of danger

  • Warn swimmers of unsafe behavior and situations

  • Responsible for responding to aquatic emergencies and rescuing swimmers if needed

  • Greet and direct members, guests, and clients upon arrival and check them in

  • Perform 1st aid and CPR duties

  • Maintain swim tests and chemical readings

  • Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms, restrooms, pool deck and water

Skills

  • 15 years of age or older and physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous.

  • Completion and up to date lifeguard, CPR, first aid (Red Cross or YMCA accepted)

  • Available weekends and evenings as well

  • Willing and able to adapt to changing environment

  • Customer service oriented

  • Able to be effective within a team environment

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height

  • Must be able to swim 300 meters and perform rescues

Bartender

Cedar Point Club bartenders provide the highest level of service in the manner most pleasing to members and their guests. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service. They provide information to assist members in making food and beverage selections. Maintain dining room appearance at all times. 

Our bartenders mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. They verify the identification and age of customers, prepare and serve alcoholic beverages, accept payment from customers, clean glasses and bar utensils and balance cash receipts to record sales. A quality Bartender candidate is knowledgeable about mixology and is capable of mixing traditional drinks as well as crafting creative cocktails. 

Bartender skills and qualifications

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

  • Impeccable member service and social perceptiveness

  • Ability to evaluate member satisfaction and responsiveness

Hostess

Cedar Point Club hostesses are the first smile our members received when dining at The Club’s multiple private dining venues. Our hostesses should be willing to fill in as needed for busboys, servers and bartenders to keep up with busy shifts. Hostess responsibilities may require back-of-house assistance such as counting down tills and inspecting/cleaning restrooms.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet members as soon as they walk through the door

  • Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment

  • Seat members, provide food and beverage menus, and fill water glasses as needed to ensure ideal speed of service

  • Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed

  • Learn food and beverage menu

  • Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for waitstaff

  • Answer phones and take reservations

  • Flexible schedule, particularly for weekend/evening shifts

  • 1+ years customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry

Child Watch Attendant 

Cedar Point Club Child Watch Assistants meet the needs of parents and family members who participate in Cedar Point Club programs and activities. While keeping children safe in a nurturing, caring environment, our Child Watch Attendants provide young children additional opportunities for social experiences and learning through play. 

Child Watch Attendant helps to carry out activities, experiences, and routines under the guidance of the supervisor. They will use a diverse selection of materials, equipment and experiences for all participants and builds effective, authentic relationship with children and their parents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years or older

  • Six or more months working with children- ages 6 weeks to 12 years old-in a nursery, child care setting, home nanny and babysitting

  • CPR/AED (including Infant/Child) certification (or ability to certify within 60 days of employment)

  • First Aid certification (or ability to certify within 60 days of employment)

  • Complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff - Virginia's Health and Safety Training 10 hours

  • Able to communicate and work effectively with groups of children and their parents in a loving yet professional manner

  • Successfully pass a Background check - An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements of the position. They may include criminal background and reference checks

  • Knowledge and maturity to observe children’s behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety practices and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
