Position Summary:
Cedar Point Club Head lifeguards ensure the safety of our members at the Aquatic Center. Our lifeguards will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. Lifeguards play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. Our lifeguards record members and their guests entering the pool, maintain pool equipment, monitor and record pool chemistry readings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet and direct members, and guests upon arrival and check them in
· Explain and enforce rules and regulations
· Maintain discipline within the pool area
· Monitor and recognize signs of danger
· Warn swimmers of unsafe behavior and situations
· Rescue swimmers in distress
· Administer first and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
· Assist with general clean-up activities
· Conduct chlorine / acid level tests
Qualifications:
· Completion and up to date lifeguard, CPR, first aid (Red Cross or YMCA accepted), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications
· 15 years of age or older and physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous.
· Available mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays as well
· Willing and able to adapt to changing environment
· Customer service oriented
· Able to be effective within a team environment
