Indoor & Outdoor Championship Facilities
We have two indoor hard tennis / pickleball courts and four newly surfaced Har-Tru clay (soft) courts available for day and night play. All levels of play are welcome at Cedar Point Club and our USPTA Elite Professional, Jan Talian, will be sure to set you up with a partner of comparable skill or give you a lesson.

Tennis & Pickleball Programming Our members are very active whether it be playing in round robins, cardio tennis, doubles classes, junior program, junior challenge ladder, Club Championships, ladies' and men's leagues, or attending the frequent tennis / pickleball socials. Jan is also a USRSA Master Racquet Technician. He is one of only two professionals in the state of Virginia holding both designations. The Tennis Pro Shop offers a wide variety of tennis merchandise featuring Wilson, Asics, and Nike just to name a few.
Instruction Our pro provides lessons and clinics along with after-school programs for all ages. Students of the game will learn basic foundational principles, etiquette as well as advanced techniques to develop a more serious game.
Summer Sports Camps Summers are active here at Cedar Point along the Nansemond River. Your child is going to love the active atmosphere and the friendly competition we have each week, while learning skills that will last for their lifetimes.
Our summer sports camps for for any boy or girl ages 6-13 who is a child or grandchild of a Cedar Point Club Member. It’s tons of fun! Each attendee gets tennis and golf instruction, indoor/outdoor games, a yummy lunch, and a cooling-off time at the new pool. Children must know how to swim.

| Tennis Pro Jan Talian Jan Talian Cedar Point Club Tennis Pro Jan Talian Cedar Point Club Tennis Pro Jan Talian, a native of Pisek, Czech Republic and has been in our Cedar Point family since April of 2014. Jan has lived in Suffolk since 2007 and previously worked at the Suffolk Racquet Club and Howard Mast Tennis Center. Jan is also an accomplished player. As a junior, he was ranked the in the Top 100 in singles and Top 35 in doubles by the International Tennis Federation. His tennis acumen led him to Ferris State University where he played number one singles and doubles during his entire career earning himself four All-American honors and held the #1 NCAA doubles ranking in the country for 2 years straight. While playing tennis at FSU, he earned his BS in Business Marketing & Professional Tennis Management and, subsequently, his Masters in Career and Technical Education. This past year, he was also a member of the Hampton Roads team that won regionals, sectionals and thus qualified for the National Championship where they placed 11th in the nation in the most prestigious division. Following his college career, Jan was an assistant at New Canaan Field Club in New Canaan, CT before returning to FSU as the Head Coach of the Men’s Tennis Team. He has also achieved the highest tennis accolade one can attest by being certified as a USPTA Elite Professional and is also a certified USRSA Master Racquet Technician (MRT). As of June 2020, he is the only individual in the Commonwealth of Virginia holding both USPTA Elite Professional and USRSA MRT designations. When not on the tennis court, Jan enjoys reading, cooking, mechanical repairs/adventures, woodworking/building, and for the past 2 years is also learning about raised bed gardening.
